Overnight #Syrian shelling hits North Lebanon towns

Shells fired from the Syrian side of the border hit northern Lebanese towns overnight on Friday, the National News Agency reported on Saturday.

The shells hit the towns of Al-Noura, Al-Debabiyyeh, Menjez, Al-Ouwaynat, Al-Bouqaiaa and Bani Sakhr near the Al-Nahr al-Kabir river.

According to the report, shells also fell near the town of Al-Mouqaylba in Wadi Khaled.

The NNA said that no casualties or material damage resulted from the shelling, but added however that some panic-stricken locals fled the area following the attack.

Shelling from war-torn Syria into Lebanon and cross-border shootings have become near-daily occurrences in recent months.
