Demonstrations:
Student demonstrations were held at the end of school day and issued from many schools. Demonstrations by the general public issued from a number of mosques, such as; Hasiba, the Grand mosque, and Halima. The protesters chanted in solidarity with Homs and other besieged cities, demanded a No-Fly-Zone and a buffer zone and the execution of the president.
A large nighttime demonstration was held and large numbers of army forces and Shabiha (regime-sponsored gangs) headed to Al-Aliya area.
Security situation:
The city is under a vicious arrest campaign executed by 18 Zil vehicles, a pickup, an anti-riot vehicle, and an officer car. A number of children were arrested, homes were raided and searched for children, and the children were pursued in Al-Hajjariya area. 3 men were also arrested, including Sheikh Mahmoud Abdul-Aziz the imam of Al-Iman mosque, the other 2 are unidentified.
Raids:
A number of homes were raided in Al-Quwatli Street and in Al-Hajjariya area.
Gunfire was heard in the evening.
